What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a solution that is applied to the skin to exfoliate and remove the outermost layer, treating a variety of skin concerns. Consulting with one of our professionals is the first step to decipher which chemical peel is best for your skin type and concerns. Results and downtime may vary depending on the strength of the chemical peel.

What should I expect during the treatment?

During treatment, expect a light stinging/tingling sensation. After treatment, expect redness, dryness, and peeling/flaking. The CURRENT Signature Facial also includes a chemical peel with solutions such as lactic acid, mandelic acid, salicylic acid, and glycolic acids. The type of peel used is customized to each individual and their concerns.

What are the benefits of a chemical peel?

A chemical peel can improve fine lines, hyperpigmentation, blemishes, uneven skin tone, and overall skin tone and texture.

IMPORTANT: Avoid use of Retinols/Retin-A®, scrubs, acids, or any actives 1 week before and after treatment. Avoid sun exposure and apply sunscreen frequently. Consult one of our estheticians for exact care instructions based on your specific treatment.
